CHARLOTTE, N.C. —Myron S. “Ronnie” Scott, 49, died Friday, Sept. 27,
2002, in a local hospital.
His funeral will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 1, from Our Lady Queen of
Heaven Catholic Church in Lake Charles. Burial will be in Consolata
Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home.
Myron Stockbridge (Ronnie) Scott, 49, of Charlotte,
N.C., died Friday, Sept. 27, 2002, in a Charlotte hospital.
He was a native and lifelong resident of Lake Charles prior to moving to
Charlotte more than one year ago. He was a graduate of LaGrange Senior
High School, where he earned all-state basketball honors two years. He
was also awarded outstanding Southwest Louisiana Player of the Year. He
attended Louisiana Tech on a basketball scholarship and graduated from
LSU with a degree in accounting. He became a certified public
accountant. At LSU, he was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon. He owned and
operated General Vending and Financial Services, both of Lake Charles.
At the time of his death, he served as a financial consultant for Trans
American in Charlotte. He was the past president of the Lake Charles
Downtown Kiwanis Club. He was past treasurer of both the Lake Charles
Ballet Society and the Mid City Little Baseball organization. He had
served as a coach and supporter in the South Lake Charles Little League
Association and coached girls and boys basketball at Our Lady Queen of
Heaven.
Survivors include his wife, Becky Eagle Scott of Charlotte; two
daughters, Chavanne Scott of Charlotte and Brittany Scott of
Austin, Texas; two sons, Gabe Scott of Tuscaloosa, Ala., and Quinn Scott
of Charlotte; two brothers, Louis Scott of London, England, and Russell
Scott of Lake Charles; three sisters, Libby Scott Sims and Mitzie Scott,
both of Houston, and Ashley Scott Larkin of Austin; and his mother,
Zippy Scott Briggs of Lake Charles. His father, Everett R. Scott Jr.
precedes him in death.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 1, 2002 from Our Lady
Queen of Heaven Catholic Church. Monsignor Ronald Groth will officiate.
Burial will be in Consolata Cemetery under the direction of Johnson
Funeral Home. Visitation is 4-9 p.m., today, with a Scripture service at
5 p.m., and 9 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home.
