Daniel Edwin "Danny" Howard (see Gloria Fleming) 03-12-09 Danny Howard passed away with a massive heart attack.... At the time of our last reunion in 1980, we lived in Houston, TX; Dan having just graduated from BYU in 1978. Since that time we have lived in Lafayette, LA, for four years where our third child was born; and Dallas, TX where we currently reside. We moved to Dallas in 1983. Since that time, Gloria has entered the corporate world as a freelance court reporter having graduated in 1987 from the Court Reporting Institute of Dallas. We have been married for almost nineteen of the twenty years since high school. We have three children; Christopher - 17, Heather - 15, and Amanda -8. Our son Chris graduates from high school this year and is enjoying a successful year in the sport of track and field. His best event is the 800 meter run, and he's broken the long-standing school record for that. In 1988, he was invited to and participated in a 10K run representing the United States in Munich, West Germany, sponsored by the International Sports Exchange and Athletics Congress. Chris is an Eagle Scout and is listed in Who's Who Among American High School Students. Heather, our oldest daughter, is on the high school drill team and Women's choir. She also takes dance and is a member of a dance company that competes in regional and national competitions. As a result, she has placed first in several entries both solo and group and has qualified this year for national competition in July. Amanda, our eight year old, also dances (actually she has since birth) jazz and ballet. Having started at a much younger age than her sister, Amanda has already earned first place awards in several local and regional competitions with her dance company. She has recently qualified for national competition also. 6909 George Brown Street Last updated from 20th Reunion |

| I received an email back in November (see
below) from Danny Howard (our Senior Class President) and just received
this from his daughter. 03-13-09 Danny Howard passed away yesterday with a massive heart attack. I know you all have classmate emails that I do not have so please forward this to everyone on your list. Please keep Gloria and their family in your prayers. Lottie --------------------- Hi to all~ My name is Heather Earl, I am Dan Howard's oldest daughter. I am going thru his contacts to let you know that he passed away last night from a massive heart attack (march 12 @ 7:45pm). He was on his way home from watching his son and son-in-law play a church basketball game! He pulled into a Lowe's parking lot and tried to call mom (Gloria) she was in the shower and he then called my sister who was at the same house as my mom! He told her that he was not feeling well and his heart was beating erratic and he was sweating and that he was going to call 911 and where he would probably beat the local hospital! And then told us to BE STRONG! When I got to the parking lot of LOWE'S we could see into the windows of the ambulance and they were doing CPR! We followed to the hospital but he was gone before they got there! My mom, Gloria is doing as well as you can under these circumstances! She needs your prayers! I hope this email finds all those who knew him and loved him! Please let anyone know that might not be on this email! He will be missed so much and we'll keep you updated on any arrangements! I will post funeral arrangements when I have them. Thank you Heather Earl 972-533-3158 heatherandshay@tx.rr.com --------------------- Hi Lottie, Haven't seen or talked to you since the 20th reunion in 1990. I lost contact with nearly everyone in the class since then. Still remember our senior class leadership of which you were a part. I understand that you have had a continuing role in leading the effort to organize the class reunions through the years along with a few others like AJ and Barbara Abshire. I will write to them too. Sorry I could not be a part of those efforts. It was fun to be the MC for the 20th reunion but you guys made it easy for me by doing all the work. But I am interested in helping going forward toward the 40th if one will be organized. Has anyone begun to think about that yet? Got your email address from the Dallas Ballmer site, Lagrange70, and read a few tributes to your leadership in organizing past class reunions. I have recently moved back to the Dallas area after living in Idaho for several years. I have wanted to re-connect with my LaGrange roots for a while now. I have communicated with Debbie Sonnier Parker and Dallas Ballmer in the last few days because they were listed on the Classmates. com website. I also put up a posting on the Alumni. COM Lagrange site asking if anyone was planning a reunion for the 40th in 2010. That posting was before Dallas Ballmer alerted me to his site where I found you and many others. It's a great site. I now know that his site is where all the action is. I may cancel my memberships to the other sites. You may remember that I married Gloria Fleming from our class. We have been married now for 37 years now, since Sept of 1971. We have three children, ages 36, 32, and 26, all married. We have 12 grandchildren. Hope this email finds you well. Love to hear from you. Dan Howard |
