Lieutenant Colonel CRAIG H. BARKER
Lt Colonel Craig H. Barker is the 157 Air Operations Group,
Administrative Officer, Located on Historic Jefferson Barracks, Saint
Louis, Missouri
Lt
Colonel Barker was born July 9, 1952, in Lake Charles Louisiana where he
graduated from LaGrange Senior High School in 1970. He enlisted in the
United States Air Force in May of 1972. After completing basic training
and Radio Relay Equipment Repairmen School, Keesler AFB, MS his first
duty station was the 4th Mobile Communications Group, Altus
AFB, OK. He transferred to the 236th Combat Communications
Squadron (ANG), Hammond Military Air Station, Hammond, Louisiana in
1974. As Sergeant Barker, he earned four additional seven-skill level
AFSCs, in the communications career filed. He transferred to the 214th
Engineering Installations Squadron in June of 1985. Lt Colonel Barker
was commissioned a Second Lieutenant on 13 February 1986, after
completing the Academy of Military Science at McGhee Tyson ANG Base,
TN. The Colonel earned his Associates and Bachelors degree of Business
Administration from Michigan’s Northwood University, New Orleans campus
in 1993. He graduated from Squadron Officers School in 1995 and Air
Command and Staff College in 2003.
After
commissioning, he returned to the 214 EIS, located at Jackson Barracks,
New Orleans, Louisiana. His initial assignment was the squadron supply
officer. He served in this capacity until he cross-trained to the
Communications–Electronics field in 1988. As a military communications
officer he served as the squadron Readiness Training Officer, Officer-
in -charge of Electronics, Officer-in-charge of the Wire Branch, and
ultimately as the squadron Installations Officer. He was selected as
the Detachment Commander in 1988 and served in that capacity until his
selection as the Detachment Commander of the 218th Engineering
Installations Squadron, located on Historic Jefferson Barracks, Saint
Louis, Missouri in December of 1995. Lt Colonel was selected as Squadron
commander in 1999. Colonel Barker was promoted to his current rank on 1
October 2003. |
