Britta Newman (Edwin “Ed” Thomas Abele) Message from Wanda Borel This is
husband of classmate Britta Newman (Able). I saw Britta (and met Ed) in
a desperate search for storage space for damaged office records
following Hurricane Rita-- she was managing Annex Mini Storage on Common
Street. Once we realized the mutual "where do I know you from" was
LaGrange, I told her how rewarding it had been to reconnect with school
mates after the passing of time kindly blurs those old categories more
important to the young, like physical looks, status, etc. and ask for
her contact information so I could pass it on so that she would receive
word of future class gatherings. Her comment was that no one even
noticed she was there or cared back then, but she had enjoyed a good
life since with a wonderful husband and family. Might be nice if some
of us let her know now that we all have learned how much the simple
kindness of caring folks from the past means at times like this and just
drop her a note on the
www.johnsonfuneralhome.net site.

| A note from the Webmaster...we are all
mortal and the cycle of life will take us home some day as well.
Respect is all we have to offer the living and it sounds as if Britta's
husband Ed was a very good man. Some never will care or notice if
you are there and some will always care about others especially those
known as LaGrange classmates of 1970. As the webbie and
representative of LGHS70 (of sorts), I wish you the best and hopefully
Ed will be fondly remembered by his friends and coworkers as well as any
that got to know him. I offer you the condolences of our class and
all the best wishes for your health and happiness. You are a
member of our 1970 class and we hope you can forgive the youth we may
have slighted you with, 39 years ago. Please allow us to share
your loss and wish you happiness through those that do still care.
Ed's family and friends are his legacy that will remember him as he was. |
